July & August 2016 Update
–We had two Kid’s Clubs in July! We partnered with Child Evangelism Fellowship, CRU Inner City and Salvation Army and were able to hold two in the same day at different locations. Overall we had 100 kids through out the week and saw 10 kids receive salvation! Watch a video at this link!
–To celebrate the end of the July Kid’s Clubs we had a Family Carnival! There was a Gospel presentation along with games and a cook out! 100 parents and kids attended and we were able to build relationships with these families living in the Hillside Community.
Two families from our church needed supplies and uniforms for their children to attend school this fall. Several members of our church pooled their resources to get what was needed that very day!
Since we moved to a building, Ethnos was in need of quite a bit of furniture, chairs for our sanctuary, folding tables, locking cabinets for children’s ministry, and much more. We put our a list of needs to our partner churches and immediately got a call from Pastor Bowen from New Song Church. He had most of what we needed including beautiful sanctuary chairs. He had been praying for money to send equipment to a mission in Africa. So we were able to get what we needed for a fraction of the cost and he was able to get the money he needed!
God is incredible!
In July we were planning to have our 2nd Kids Club at Cass St. Park. We canvassed the area and on the first day of Kids Club we went to the park. No one came. We canvassed again and came back the next day. No one came. We began praying about where the Lord wanted us to go and through circumstances and the leading of the Holy Spirit he led us to 6th St. & Center in the backyard of one of our members. The club was small, but the kids were hungry for the Lord. One of the families came to the Family Carnival that Friday night and shared how loved they felt all week. They were preparing to move to St. Louis and had no money for food. We had fed them lunch each day at the Kids Club and dinner at the Family Carnival and we were able to send them home with quite a bit of food until they moved!
